The Guyana Nurses Association, formed June 1928, is the oldest Nurses Association in the English speaking Caribbean. Dr. J. B. Singh OBE, a leading medical practitioner in the colony of British Guiana, played a pivotal role in its formation.
NOTICE
The Guyana Nurses Association will open a book of condolences for the late Gloria Noel the first Principal Nursing Officer/Chief Nursing Officer of Guyana from Thursday 4th December 2025 during working hours and it will remain open throughout the following week.

THE COUNCIL IS A SEMI-AUTONOMOUS BODY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REGULATION OF STANDARDS FOR NURSES AND MIDWIVES IN GUYANA.
NURSES, MIDWIVES AND NURSING ASSISTANTS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE NMC BEFORE THEY CAN PRACTICE NURSING IN GUYANA.
