8:30 am: On arrival at Roden Rust we will join a boat, which takes you to the former Dutch Fort at Fort Island, which is approximately 16 km from the mouth of the mighty Essequibo River. Fort Island has two remaining Dutch structures: Fort Zeelandia and the Court Policy.
